The New Marine unit was placed in service today.The Firehawk (Fire model) also provides up to 2200 GPM fire pump and Twin fire monitors for fire suppression (water and foam) and “sinking vessel pump out” capabilities. The below deck fire pump is directly plumbed through the keel. The pump is always primed and can supply water with a turn of a key for the fire pump engine. NFPA 1925 Compliant System.

 
Engine 48 Assists With 3 Alarmer in Darby

On April 13th, at 0715 hours company 48 was dispatched to assist Station 04(Darby #1) with the working commerical Structure fire.Engine 48-1 made the response and was ordered to take the hydrant at 9th and ridge. Engine 48-1 laid 1000 ft of 5 inch hose to supply Tower 44(Springfield). Engine 48-1 was supplying Tower 44(Springfield) for 5 hours before being released by 04 Command(D.Trayband). Large Brush Fire On The Island

Today around 1600 hours company 48 was dispatched to 8800 Essington ave at Cargo City for the brush fire, 48-9A(Buschmeier) and Engine 48-1 went responding. 48-9A(Buschmeier) advised it was a large brush fire and the Engine would have to drop a supply line and lead off with the deck gun and a 1 3/4. Shortly after Philadelphia Fire Department was on location to assist and Engine 48-2,Utility 48 and Rescue 48 along with 07-5(Ridley Park) made the response. Crews Battled the blaze for 3 hours to make sure that all hot spots were out and started taking up.

 
   
   
Brush Season Starts

Today around 1800 hours company 48 was dispatched to 4 Hog Island Road for the Brush Fire. 48-9A(Buschmeier) arrived on location with a medium Brush fire and Advised Engine 48-1 to Streach a line and start knocking the fire. Engine 48-2 also made the response and secured a water supply dropping 200 ft of 5inch and started to use the deck gun to soak everything down.Crews cleared up about an hour later.

Working Fire In Prospect Park

This morning at 0231, the box was struck for the working fire at the Colonial Park West Apt's in Prospect Park. Crews arrived to find fire showing from the second floor. Snozzle 8 laid in and pulled 1 3/4 and attacked same, Engine 8's crew pulled a second 1 3/4 off the Snozzle to assist. The truck companies, searched, opened up and tossed ladders.Rescue 48 responded and assisted with the truck company duties. The balance of the companies assisted were needed and with the extensive overhaul. Companies on Scene were- 07(Ridley Park),08(Prospect Park) 02)Norwood) and 12(Eddystone). RIT Teams out of 14(Swarthmore) and 43(Holmes) were also on scene. Thanks to 63(Green Ridge),01(Folcroft) and 61(Reliance) for covering.

 
   
   
Working Fire with Entrapment in Eddystone

At 0448hrs Companies 12, 48, Ladder 07, Pipeline 62, Tower 82, R.I.T. 08 and Medic 102A were dispatched to 1120 Eddystone Ave(Creek bank Apartments) for the working building fire, which was quickly upgraded also with entrapment. Eddystone Police arrived to find fire showing from the 3rd floor and through the roof. Police confirmed entrapment. Numerous area police departments responded to the scene and entered the building to help rescue and evacuate people. E12-1(Reeves) staffed with 5 arrived along with Tower 82 and dropped a supply line. Tower 82 set up on the Bravo side of the building and entered for a primary on the 3rd floor. The engine crew stretched a 2-1/2” blitz line and once crews exited the building placed it in service. Chief 12 arrived on scene and confirmed the police reports and gave out his orders for first incoming units( Ladder 07 to Delta side, Ladder 48 12th&Eddystone Alpha side, E12-2 hydrant assignment and supply L48, Pipeline 62 lay a third supply line and supply Ladder 07 ). Chief Rowles assumed “Eddystone Avenue Command” and added a second RIT ( Holmes 43 ) and placed covers (E57and E68) into station 12. After a quick primary was done on all floors all units were ordered into master stream operations with the fire running the roof. Due to manpower and water issues E57 and E68 were ordered to the scene and to pressurize the hydrants in use. E18 and E66 were back filled into station 12 to cover. After master streams knocked down the fire a line was stretched to the 3rd floor to evaluate the 3rd floor. Interior reported just a few hot spots and lengthy over haul. At that time the assignment was placed under control with all hands working. Fire damage was contained to the 3rd floor with water and smoke damage through out the remainder of the building. This building contains 29 units within 3 floors. EMS treated and transport 3 civilians with there conditions unknown at the time of the incident being placed under control. Original Alarm: 12, Ladder and Engine 48, Ladder 07, Pipeline 62, Tower 82, RIT 08 and Medic 102A. Additional Fire/EMS: Air Unit 48, Rescue 62, Medic 100, Medic 83-7, Special Call: Engine 57, Engine 68, R.I.T. 43 and Canteen 67 Additional Resources: PECO, Eddystone Car 1(FM), DELCO C.I.D. , State Police Fire Marshal, Red Cross Thanks to Engine 63(Green Ridge),Rescue 01(Folcroft) and Tower 61(Reliance) for covering the local.
